5/20/2020 0 Comments W Hotel BrisbaneIt is safe to say that as far as hotels go, this is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in! It was gorgeous and had plenty of adult features but it was also very suitable for the older kids. Not entirely sure this was the place for young kids (the W isn't usually known for that atmosphere) but for the older crowds it was lovely. This place was so affordable and luxurious. It had the best light features ever and our room was nothing special but it was oh so special!! I really loved this place so much that I stayed there twice, both times I stopped through Brisbane. I originally picked it for the prime location but I soon found out it was an amazing place overall. The RoomYESS! For a "basic room" this room was anything but basic. I'm not much of a "view" person - I would much rather just be out there than look at it, but this one really took my breath away. The whole room is so high tech too. The curtains are controlled by little bedside tablets. This may not seem like much to some people but I was really being spoiled. The ReceptionWonderful service from the reception. They gave us a map and helped us find places to eat and place orders for food as well as find rides. They operate through a text service which I will say I did not like because I have no service traveling abroad and whatsapp doesn't work great on wifi (even though they had great wifi). However, if you just go down there, they will help you. Also- try the tea they keep down there if you're into that sort of thing. I found it to be delicious! The FoodHonestly, the food here was okay but with all the restaurants near by and in Brisbane, it is, in my opinion, more worth the time and money to not eat in the hotel unless you are starving. I ate a steak, it cost $56 dollars and was tiny, not shareable at all, full of fat, and was not up to the par of the money that was paid for it. I would eat out. The Italian restaurant next door to the W is really nice but also expensive. There are plenty of less expensive places around especially at South Bank. Note: One of the best steakhouses in Brisbane is closed January 6 and 7 but open for New years. The PoolI only saw the pool once. It is on the roof. They may have more than one pool, I'm not sure. It was a very nice area and I was the only one up there when I went. There is just so much to do I would not have spent my time at the pool. Much of it was in the shade. Some people may like that some may not. It's not for me, but the privacy was nice. The LocationThis is the reason I chose to stay here twice other than staying somewhere else. The location is key. 5 minutes across the bridge, 5 minutes to the mall on foot IF THAT! It is in the middle of both whereas other hotels were closer to one or the other (even by just a couple minutes) I really wanted to go to both places so this couldn't have been better!
