10/11/2019 0 Comments Top 10 Things to do in Grand CaymanIf you are a huge planner, or just dazed and confused about what Grand Cayman has to offer, this post is for you! Please check this out. These are the top 10 things to do in Grand Cayman according to myself, and my family. We have done all 10 of these things. Although they will be in numbered order, there is no top thing to do. Each is enjoyable and the amount of fun it brings depends on two things. One is your attitude towards it and the other one is if it appeals to your own interests because everyone is different. 1. Lounge and Relax on Famous Seven Mile BeachGrand Cayman's seven mile beach is where it is at! This is probably the beach your resort will be located on and if you know what is best for you, you will spend much of your time on this beach. The waters are crystal clear with sands pearly white. This beach is happiness and just spending some time here whether it be by yourself listening to music and baking in the sun or walking with a loved one or building sandcastles with your family, this beach is purely amazing and what drew me to loving Grand Cayman. 2. Go for a SnorkelWhether this may be walking into the water or hoping on a sailboat for a tour, take a snorkel. It opens your eyes to the underwater world. There should not be any sharks around for anyone who may have a fear (even though a fear of sharks is unnecessary). There are many friendly fish that you can explore as you swim around. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORAL. I say this for two reasons. One it hurts the coral. Touched coral will die. Two it might hurt you. Even tho my mom explained to my dad to not touch the elk-horn coral, he did and it caused his fingers to go numb. Taking a snorkel is a good enjoyable way to get outside and pass the time in the sun. 3. Rent a CarExplore the entire island... why not? Renting a car is a great way to explore the whole island (that takes about a day) or just connect with new places on the island (like Rum Point). If you have the funds and get the option, Jeeps are pretty fun! ;) 4. Go to Stingray CityYes this is something super fun to do! Lots to do here and so much fun! For more information on Stingray city (tourist companies, what it is, and best times to visit, see the stingray city post on my blog)! 5. Go to Rum PointHaha yes, you guessed it! FUN FUN FUN! There is a blog post on this place also. Small disclaimer, mostly delicious food and a shop. It is a good ways away from seven mile beach, but please do not allow that to be a huge deterrant especially if you rent a car. 6. Go to the Turtle Centre110% one of my absolute favorite places. Yes, please please go here. Transportation is easy and it is so worth it! There is a post on this about the whole place. However, an overview is that the turtle centre is a place to learn and observe turtles of all sizes. You can even snorkel and touch some of their turtles! 7. Take a RunWhether you are a runner or not, taking a run or even a walk is a great way to immerse yourself in the Cayman culture. I recommend going by seven mile beach because you will never have to worry about how to get back. The sidewalk is one big straight shot but all the resorts. Yes, it's very hot, but taking a run would cause you to sweat and feel so much better afterward. It helps get rid of unwanted impurities due to the excess sweating. I am a runner, therefore I enjoyed the run, but even try taking a walk, even if you would rather walk along the beach. 8. Go EatWhether or not you eat upscale, there is always a place for you. There is always coocnut joes which tends to be more casual but just as delicious. There is Lucas which is more upscale dining and pricy but worth it. Wherever you are, there is always a place to try, so go try new foods!! 9. Go for a Scuba DiveThere is always a dive shop just around the corner so why not book a dive with them? Just do one and try it out or do six because you know you love it. Maybe even get certitfied and open your eyes to the underwater world of scuba diving! Hey, you might even love it and if not, no big deal, it is not for everyone. 10. ShoppingWhether you are shopping by your resort or shopping downtown, the shopping is great. Plenty of things everywhere of good quality. I will say it is my personal experience that the dive shops have the best stuff to my liking. One shop I went to had the most amazing swimsuit selection and a different one I went to had an amazing t-shirt collection. Honestly depends where you go but the dive shops were definitely my favorite for shipping!
