2/16/2020 0 Comments Visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Australia: Up-Close Wildlife Encounters in a Peaceful SettingI had the most fun at this place that I have had in a while. My inner child came out and I was running around everywhere with all the animals. I got to check so many things off my bucket list and I was really happy with the conditions for the people and the animals here. It was a place of peace and happiness. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend for small kids, families, and even elders. it's great for anyone and it's easy to navigate and cheap! The KoalasWell I mean duh... that's what I came here for and I didn't expect what I saw. They were everywhere!! So many koalas!! I came here to see only the koalas but I honestly saw so many other animals too that it was a more freeing experience than the Australia zoo. It was easier to get close to the animals instead of just looking. You will see what I mean later if you keep reading. As far as the koalas go, though, go to the main pavilion to touch and hold the koalas. Touching is free but holding costs 20 Australian dollars per holder. I think this is sooooo worth it!!! My mom and I both got to hold but even if you come as a family and only one person holds everyone else can touch and get in the picture. The picture is printed for you and available five minutes after it is taken. It is 8x10 and the price is included in what you paid to hold the koala. AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I would 100% go back and do it again and i'm not even a huge zoo/ land animal fan!!! Heres some pictures: The KangeroosAll up close and personal with kangeroos and emus of all ages and sizes had me a happy camper. Really awesome place to be able to feed, pet, and get pictures with the animals who are very relaxed and spoiled. Great for people of all ages. Other AnimalsEven though I don't have any pictures, there was so many other animals there! There was even a platypus and a wild animal living in a hole of one of their trees that they didn't put there. They had pigs, goats, and birds. I even got to see Australian Shepards in action in Australia- crazy! I saw sooo many animals. They had a dingo which basically looks like a wild dog and lots of amphibians including snakes and frogs and hugeee lizards.
Also- I didn't eat there and I don't recall if they serve food. Try to go in the morning and eat lunch on your way back. They did have ice cream though. I'm not much of an ice cream person but that ice cream was fantastic! Highly recommend this place overall!!
