10/12/2019 0 Comments Loch Low Minn, TennesseeI came to this place for one reason- to scuba dive as part of a requirement for my rescue course. I definitely was not expecting what I saw when I arrived. I went on a weekday so I had the whole place to myself. You cannot go on a weekday unless you have a connection because they are closed. No worries though, Saturday and Sunday they are open for business! This place took my breath away when we pulled the car up to it. For a three hour drive away from my location, I would love to go back, it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and it is not far from home. I do not even know what to say about this place. The whole environment was charming. There was a little pier full of fish. Once in, the visibility was not terrible considering it is freshwater. What this place is known for is, it is the only place in the world you can see the North American Paddlefish in the wild. I did get to see the Paddlefish and they are large with a snout that extends out in the front. They are completely harmless and just swim by, keeping their distance. This place is also full of bass and catfish. Huge fish are in here but none of them are harmful, just beautiful. So... yeah. Short post on this place but I highly recommend you check it out. It is in the middle of nowhere so either bring food, or there is a BBQ place on the way if you are coming from the south that is really really good. Anyway, they do have bathrooms there, but they are portapotties. Here are some images I took there, sadly I was diving without a camera, so no paddlefish pictures. :(
