Dhigurah Island, Maldives: A Cultural Haven with Whale Shark Adventures and Pristine Beaches

A new place for me, Dhigurah used to be the home of MWSRP before they acquired the pirate ship sailboat. The island is HUGE and full of beauty. 

We got dropped off and were told we could do whatever we pleased. The group split up some but we all did some type of picture taking, shopping, and eating.

Shopping

There's PLENTY of shopping on Dhigurah Island and its all on one row. My best advice is to not get yourself wrapped up in the first store you go in. All the stores have around the same merchandise with different prices and quality of goods. Also, if one store doesn't have your size, try another store. 

Eating

The eating is rather limited. There are plenty of places to eat but whether or not they will have what you're looking for is hit or miss. We ate at Beach Cafe Dhigurah. There is a photo of us sitting there in the above slideshow. 

Location

This is the local island that is attached to LUX S. Ari Resort by the sandbar. Sometimes LUX guests will walk to the far end of this island not in dress code which is typically accepted as okay. 

Dress Code

Like all local islands, Dhigurah has a dress code. Bikinis are not allowed. Women should cover the knees and shoulders. I would recommend linen clothes and NOT leggings or jeans.
