Discover Dhangethi Island, Maldives: A Hidden Gem of Pristine Beaches, Local Culture, and Marine Adventures

I am now a repeat visitor at Dhanghetti Island. I love the atmosphere here and how small the island is. This time though, I saw a wild parrot and have seen the island develop so much. 

Unlike Dhigurah, there really isn't much eating on Dhanghetti due to its size. I got a magnum ice cream bar from a small grocery store and that's the closest you'll get to food there. There is a lot more (and better) shopping than Dhigurah. Both islands are beautiful and take great photos. I happened to get cool sunset pictures on Dhanghetti.

You could get lost in all their shopping but a lot of it is repetitive. If they don't have your size in one store, be sure to try multiple stores before getting discouraged. Speaking from experience- BUY THE JEWELRY- specifically the manta ray necklace. Everyone always compliments my $10 manta ray necklace from here and it has held up so well. BUY IT BUY 3 you can't find them anywhere else in the world!!!!!

Location

Dhanghetti is located farther north from the whale sharks but they still do lots of tours there if you stay in a local island resort which are very affordable BTW :)

Dress Code

Dress code is on any local Maldivian Island - women must cover the shoulders and knees.
