Stay at Best Western Plus North Lakes, Australia: Modern Comfort and Convenience Near Brisbane

What a beautiful amazing place this was! I would have loved to live here. The community is amazing, clean safe, friendly, and active. The food is delicious, healthy. The scenery is gorgeous and full of life. We picked this place because it is close to the Redcliffe airport even though it is 45 minutes from the Brisbane airport. Cab rides are really expensive in Australia so please take an uber whenever possible! It was important for us to be close to Redcliffe because that is where we would fly out of at 7 am the next day to go to Lady Eliot Island. 

The Food

This was the very first thing I wanted upon arrival. I mean... duh... flying forever and a day with only a couple pieces of bread and chips leaves a girl pretty hungry. The restaurant attached to the hotel ( as seen in the top image) opens at 7 am with a marvelous breakfast buffet. Breakfast is not included in your stay, though :(. Anyway, the food is great. The same restaurant does three meals. There are other restaurants, but you either need to walk a short distance into town more or get transportation. The boardwalk, which is attached to the hotel has great food options. Breakfast is heaps of fruit, cereal, toast, bacon, crispy bacon, eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, pastries, muffins, and so much more! Lunch is menu based as well as dinner. Their hamburgers are crazy good but good luck finding any ketchup aka tomato sauce haha!

The Rooms

The rooms rocked! We had a basic room but that basic room was one king sized bed with a door sectioning it off from a small but fully equipped kitchen and living room space with a couch and a tv that had Netflix. In addition, we had two large closets, a balcony, and an enormous bathroom. My only compliant was that the bathroom didn't have a door so the person not showering had to be in the living room area and couldn't go into the bedroom because theres a direct view. I guess that doesn't matter if you're married or don't really mind, but a teenage girl with her mom definitely minds whos looking at her in the shower. I just wish there was a door, thats the only thing they needed to add.

What to do

There's plenty to do here. Whether you go to the park area, take a walk, get an uber, eat, stay in the room, whatever pleases you.
We ate breakfast and watched the Saturday 5k run that the community does. Maybe it's on Sunday I cant remember. I wanted to run but I only brought flip flops so that was tough. We went from breakfast to the Lone Pine Koala sanctuary straight away. We stayed there until 12:30. and then came back for some lunch and a shower. After the shower we went for a walk around pond/park area to explore. I took my camera and heres some raw photos I took...

Small continuation of what to do, I spent a lot of time in the shower and bath because 
I had caught a cold and I was using the warmth for my body to fight infection. I was really bummed about this because it meant no scuba diving but I was lucky to have some antibiotics and lots of tissues so I got better in three, yes THREE days. That's practically unheard of for me to scuba dive three days after. The sun and ocean do help though as well. I actually just thought of making a post about that so see the travel tips section for a post about traveling with medicine and recovering quickly from a cold. The bath and the shower were great places for me and when I came out for dinner, my mom was passed out on the couch awe!

Something I thought was funny to me is they put their drinks upside down in their vending machine so I thought I'd share! LOL
