Stay in a Beach Villa at Centara Grand Maldives: Luxury and Serenity Steps from the Ocean

Dear beach villa 38, I miss you! I ADORE this beach villa. It fit my family of four comfortably even though I thought it would be tight. It had plenty of charm. There was a cute little patio which included a place where clothes could hang dry and most important, it was right on the beach. I am not one to care about the room, but this place was so great. 

Photos of the Room 

Below are photos I have of the room. There is one king bed upstairs along with a half bath. Downstairs is one bed which is foam and probably the most comfortable of all beds. We also got a rollaway bed. Past the beds is the main bathroom which has an indoor and outdoor shower. Having two separate sinks an toilets is great and really gives the necessary bathroom space for the family since we aren’t crammed into one area. 

The outdoor space 

The patio in the front of the villa is extraordinary. There is a couch and a table and we were able to get extra chairs brought out for us. There is also a place to hang clothes to dry which we had full constantly. If you go on the beach and come back with sandy feet, there is a bucket of water and a scoop for you to rinse your feet off (pictures below in use). The only thing is beach villa is missing is a shower outside in the front. Honestly all it needs is a water head so people can rinse the salt off of them before going to lunch. 
The area also came with two lounge chairs with cousins that you can easily move in or out of the sun. These are excellent napping places!

The View

Here are some of the beautiful views from our beach villa. We were on the west side of the island so we could see the sunset every night. 

Wifi

The wifi worked great in the room. The whole resort had wifi access but it did have a few dead spots along the pathway to different places on the island. It worked great in all the main areas 

Room cleaning 

The room guy is excellent! He cleans twice a day sweeping and mopping and making beds and cleaning showers I don’t know how he does it. He also cleans the outside patio and is extremely trustworthy around valuables. He is never in the way and is rather speedy. He also changes linens and keeps towels fresh. 
The mini fridge is stocked everyday by a different guy. He comes in with a small bag and puts in sprites, lion beers, and chocolate bars. 

Overwater Villas

Centara Grand Resort (like many other resorts) has overwater huts. We did not go for one because we do prefer to be on the beach and be able to walk straight into the sand. The overwater huts are also more expensive and we prefer to spend less on the room and more on the activities. 
We met a couple who were in the overwater huts and they said the wind was so bad that they needed to move to a beach villa and they love it so much more. The overwater huts, they said, had so much whistling from the wind that it was keeping them up at night.
