Bring a pillow of choiceWhether you like airplane pillows that go around your neck or the one you sleep with at home, just bring something. But how do you keep it from taking up so much space? Place your pillow in a vacuum seal bag that doesn’t require a vacuum until you are ready to use it! They also make blow up pillows that are meant to go on tray tables so that you can actually have a place to rest your head. Here is a link to the blow up pillow on amazon:
I bring a small down comforter on long flights. It really helps me feel at home and they are filled with mostly air so they are very small and easy to carry once in a vacuum bag. Bringing a blanket may be good for you or may be too much, but I always found that it helps me. 3. Bring your own foodAirplane food (unless you are traveling first class) is nasty. Bring your own snacks and meals if you need to in order to keep your blood sugar up in the long hours ahead. I usually bring some type of Pringle chip, maybe a candy, and a bunch of Starbucks croissants. I bring my own drinks as well because something about the drinks they serve and the cabin air pressure makes me sick. Just grab it in the airport before you board and bring it all on the plane. 4. Bring earbuds you are comfortable sleeping inThis one is more important than you think. When on a long flight it is best to pass the time while sleeping and I usually put on some music or a tv show I want to sleep with on so I don’t have to listen to the sound of the plane. My earbuds are the beats wireless ones. They are snug fitting to the ear but flat on the side so you can rest your head against the pillow with them on. They are also attached behind my head so if they fall out you are only losing one object not two small earbuds. Bring whatever you are comfortable with but I will link mine below. 5. Sleep as much as possibleThe best way to pass the time on the plane is by sleeping. An hour here and there can really make an eight hour flight feel like four or five. Bring a pillow, blanket, and earbuds are definitely the best tips for long flight sleeping. 6. Download your shows on Netflix ahead of timeFor those who aren’t the best plane sleepers, there is always television. Some planes (actually most now) are equipped with movies and tv in the personal seat screens, but I wouldn’t trust it. Go ahead and download a movie and a couple episodes of your favorite show in case there is no screen or nothing you want to watch on the in flight entertainment. If you know you will only want to watch your favorite show, then download it all so you can watch it offline on the plane. Thanks for reading 6 tips for long flights! I hope these were helpful :)
