4 Types of Packers: How to Overcome Common Packing Challenges

Hey guys!! Today I'm going to be talking through a few travel tips that have to do with (yep you guessed it) PaCkInG!!
When it comes to packing many people just wing it. Some bring a lot of clothes and some don't bring enough. Here's the four types of packers, and how to overcome to become the perfect packer!

The 4 Types of Packers

1. The overpacker- yes, this is the person who brings WAY too much stuff. They start packing in one bag and eight suitcases later, they still feel like they're forgetting something. This is my dad and if you know anyone like this, they're such a pain to travel with and I am so sorry... Don't be this person!!
2. The underpacker- This is the person who says "I don't have any more underwear!" halfway through the trip. This is also the person who smells because they only brought two shirts.
3. the night before packer- This person realizes that they are really leaving the next day and throws some clothes in a bag. They're most likely a busy person or just really busy at the time when about to go out of town.
4. the "I forgot what I packed because I packed four months ago" packer- this is my mom. For our Australia trip she packed in July for a December trip and had so many clothes that she kept packing over and over because she forgot. She also forgot where she putt stuff and that's so difficult for other people to help because you have no idea where they're stuff is.
*some people may have more than one of these traits

How do I become the perfect packer?

The answer is simple. Packing takes time and concentration. If you forget something, hopefully you can just buy it. I prefer remote places where you cannot buy goods and you must pack light so my packing takes time and thought.
First things first, know what to overpack based on where you are going. I always overpack small things such as underwear, bras, swimsuits, and tee shirts.
Second, pack a pair of shoes that go with everything. One pair of recreation shoes, running shoes if needed, and fancy shoes (depending on your itenerary). The fancy and running shoes should be black or white so that they go with any outfit (even one you may buy there that you like).
Third, start packing about a week before you leave. It's enough time to get everything. You will forget stuff and its enough time to remember that and add it to the bag. It's not enough time, however, to not forget what you packed and where you put it.
*If you are taking a multi-week/month vacation, start to pack about the same amount of time as you will be gone.
Final TIP: I always take one long sleeve shirt and one pair of socks (That haven't been worn on the plane) with me. You never know when it will be chilly at night or in your room. They don't take up as much space and make life loads easier on the go.

Anything else?
