The beautiful corals covered in fish are indeed the expected in Raja Ampat. However, here's a list of animals I never expected to see while diving in Raja Ampat.

Great diving and packages, delicious food (especially the spring rolls omg), a beautiful beach, manta cleaning station right offshore, kayaks for rent, and more! 

Scuba Diving Raja Ampat has been my dream since I started diving. I would go on dive trips and tell the guides what I wanted to see. They always responded with "maybe but you can definitely see that in Indonesia." So to Indonesia I went. AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! I LOVE LIVEABOARDS!! I spent 12 days on this gorgeous boat, saw some of the most incredible marine life, and enjoyed some of the best food ever - seriously!

I had never been to a homestay before but I was so lucky to stumble upon the best one in north Raja Ampat. Located on Kri (Mansuar) island, Turtle Homestay is perfect for any traveler. They offer a large range of excursions AND have a beautiful house reef. The locals and staff are so friendly! They speak great English and the dive sites around Kri are just epic. DEFINITELY GO HERE!
