6/24/2021 0 Comments Dive the Great Barrier Reef with Spirit of Freedom: Australia’s Premier Liveaboard AdventureThe diving done from the ship pictured above was easily some of the best I’ll ever do in my entire life. 200 foot (60 m) visibility or more, soft coral galore, sharks, cod, sea snakes. Nothing we saw was mediocre, all of it was gleaming and numerous. Want to see whales too? Come in December (or any of Australia’s winter months) and you can check whales off the list too! 6/3/2021 1 Comment Exploring Cairns AustraliaI felt so much peace being here! Below I’ll share the best and worst of Cairns. I will say this is not going t0 be a fully submerged post... being here for less than a day means that I did not get the full experience. However, I walked around for a while and I found some really fun areas to explore, shop, and even spend the day. 6/3/2021 1 Comment Stay at Crystalbrook Bailey in Cairns: Modern Luxury and Artful Living in Tropical AustraliaWhat a beautiful place located in the heart of Cairns! It had great food, excellent views, and was a short walk away from shopping and a harbor where many snorkel tours were taking off daily.
6/29/2020 0 Comments Fly with Virgin Australia to Cairns: Comfort, Convenience, and Gateway to the Great Barrier ReefThis is a short blog post about a short hour and a half flight from Brisbane to Cairns (pronounced cans - crazy right?!). Anyway, this was a short relaxing flight. I used pictures and talked about flying both there and back (since it was so short I wanted to include more details).
5/20/2020 0 Comments W Hotel BrisbaneIt is safe to say that as far as hotels go, this is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in! It was gorgeous and had plenty of adult features but it was also very suitable for the older kids. Not entirely sure this was the place for young kids (the W isn't usually known for that atmosphere) but for the older crowds it was lovely. This place was so affordable and luxurious. It had the best light features ever and our room was nothing special but it was oh so special!! I really loved this place so much that I stayed there twice, both times I stopped through Brisbane. I originally picked it for the prime location but I soon found out it was an amazing place overall. 4/20/2020 0 Comments Exploring Brisbane, Australia: Discover Culture, Nature, and Vibrant City Life Brisbane AustraliaReally enjoyed this place!! I am not a big city fan. I much prefer small remote places than a big city but being completely honest, this was my best big city experience, even more than my home city, Atlanta. Why? Read more to find out the details but in short, Brisbane was clean, full of entertainment, and friendly. It is very pedestrian friendly and has so much to do. We stayed here for only a day or so two times while visiting Australia but it was a lovely change of scenery. Below I'll explain how I filled my time in Brisbane as well as other possible things to do and some more kid friendly options. There will be a separate post for the hotel we stayed in and I will link that in the button below. 4/9/2020 0 Comments Discover Lady Elliot Island: A Pristine Eco Resort on the Great Barrier Reef, AustraliaI pray every single day that I get to go back to this AMAZING tiny island. Lady Eliot Island is the most incredible place on this planet and it has so much life on land and in the water. From the birds to the turtles to the manta rays and tree frogs, this is the place to be. I'm in love and I hope after reading this y'all will be too... We stayed for a week and I just have SO many pictures. After staying in northlake for about a day (one night) and doing the whole koala experience, we got up really early the next day to fly out of Redcliffe Airport. This is not an international airport- it's small and difficult to find your way around. It took us a while to get to our hanger for our plane but we fianlly made it. Just go early and leave with plenty of time. Sea Air was the plane company we used (and probably the only one available) to fly to Lady Eliot Island. 2/16/2020 0 Comments Visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Australia: Up-Close Wildlife Encounters in a Peaceful SettingI had the most fun at this place that I have had in a while. My inner child came out and I was running around everywhere with all the animals. I got to check so many things off my bucket list and I was really happy with the conditions for the people and the animals here. It was a place of peace and happiness. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend for small kids, families, and even elders. it's great for anyone and it's easy to navigate and cheap! |
