How To Take Great Sunset Photos

I’ve always struggled to take great sunset photos. However, I think I’ve got it down now and I want to share my tips with y’all! 
Tips: 
1. It’s better on days where there’s some clouds that the sun turns colors. However at the beach, that’s not too realistic… 
2. Hide the actual sun behind your head. This way you still get the benefit of a colored sky without having a dark silhouette. Here’s an example below:

3. So we totally love this photo above, however we wanted the people out of the background. To get people out of the background, we walked about ankle deep into the water where we came up with this final photo (the same one as the top):

As a closing thought, these tips work in more places than just the beach, especially tip #2 - I would say that’s the secret to sunset photos.
